Gift: Premonition/ Communication with the Dead
Gift Specification:
Premonition is basically the ability to predict the future without concious reason or previous warning. It is purely psychic. Sometimes it will come in visions or dreams, others in feelings or a forewarning. Rashel is very in tuned with her Gift but doesn't full realize it sometimes although she's always been aware of it. She can control it slightly but some times are harder than others. Like if she's tired she's less in tune with it. When she's full of energy and buzzing she's more in tune with it. Rashel mostly dreams her premonitions or 'feels' it.Awareness: Aware
Communicating with that day is as it sounds. It's the ability to speak to those who are stuck between the mortal world and the Other Side. Not many can do this, but sometimes she gets her premonitins from this part of her.
Personality:
Rashel is overall anti social. She doesn't have any friends and always seems to have a cold expression and something hiding in her eyes. She's very smart for her age which seems to give her a black sense of humor. She doesn't like to talk and often isn't seen by the people around her. It's like she's not even there, and there's just empty space. Rashel is very self concious yet brave. She's very mature and can handle difficult situations. She was labeled insane at the age of 13 when her foster parents insisted her anti social life style was due to a mental issue. She was examined by a proffessional who deemed her as mentally unstable.Appearance:
She found out later that he'd been payed off by her parents so they could get some extra cash. She hates her life, and the fact that she's treated unfairly. But as time passed she started to believe them. Her independence began to slip as she started to believe her visions and feelings were due to insanity. Her sanity was all she believed she really had and without that she really started thinking herself insane. But when she had a premonition about Hollowcove Institution, all her doubts were banished as she realized she wasn't insane but simply called insane. Her confidence rose and she tried to work on her gift with what little info she knew about. This is why she can be so determined and stubborn.

Rashel has thick, silky pitch black hair with purple streaks that falls to her shoulders in layers. She has a side bangs and the whole thing gives her a punk rock kind of look. Rashel has almond shaped eyes that are a piercing silver blue color that captivate and and push away those who stare deep enough in them. They always carry a cold, emotionless expression. She has full (but not too much) 'kissable lips'. And soft fair/ pale skin that easily burns. It's mosty due to her Irish, English and French heritage.History:
Rashel's small and petite for her age. But she's well toned and has all the right curves. She has straight white teeth and takes good care of herself do she's mostly acne free. She's actually very beautiful but fails to realize it. Her only fault is the faint scar the runs across both her wrists. When she had believed she was insane she'd tried to committ suicide. Rashel always has a slightly defensive stance. Even when she's relaxed. Her clothing consists of of baggy sweaters, jeans, tank tops, and plain shirts. Some outfits flaunt her figure in an unconcious and unplanned way while others hide it.
June 13, 1994RP Example:
Rashel was born on June 13, 1993 in Muskegon Michigan to unkown parents. She was abandoned soon after birth on the doorstep of an orphanage. She was taken care of there by the owner personally. All she had was a letter from her parents stating her name, birthdate and a letter expressing their love for her.
Six Years Old
When Rashel turned six she was put in a foster home. The lady from the orphanage had died about two years ago and now they were going to tear down the old place. Her new parents weren't what they seemed though. They were abusive and only had her for the extra money they got monthly to support her. Most of that money went into booze and drugs though. She went to school daily but always kept to herself. Most thought she was mute except when she burst out talking to someone who wasn't there. She was smart and soon was skipping grades. Her teachers were impressed but worried for her. She was just so closed up.
Ten years old
When Rashel turned ten her whole life was revealed to the authorities when both of her foster parents were found dead from a drug overdose. She was taken by social services to find the extent of the damage but she refused to let them touch her. She wasn't afraid of them she simply didn't like to be touched. She was mentally examined and labeled as mentally unstable. Yet they looked at her grades and weren't sure. She was soon placed in a new home that was monitored. It was a small family. Mr. and Mrs. Cass and their daughter Eve. They were extremely religous and social services hoped it would rub off on her. There plan back fired when she started leaving home at midnight to wander the country side. The family was soon locking her door to keep her in, but it happened every night. Calling the authorities they stated that they couldn't handle it any more and that she was a bad influence on their daughter.
Thirteen Years Old
Rashel had always had visions and had always been able to communicate with the dead. She just never really realized the premonition part. But as she got older the premonitions became more defined and she was starting to realize her Gift. After being kicked out of the Cass family she was placed in a Home. There was nothing they could do for her. She wasn't insane, she just wasn't coopertive. Living in the Home was difficult for her. She was constantly getting into fights and there was nothing they could do about it. Nobody wanted to take her in.
Fourteen Years Old
One night she woke up in a cold sweat. Remembering the Premonition she started to hyperventilate and freaked out. She had just dreamed about Hollowcove Institution. Stealing a knife from the kitchen she did the one thing she could do. She slit her wrists and hid in the cellar. Later that morning she was found. Her face ashen and half dead. She was quickly taken to the hospital and soon marked as insane, they had found the one thing they needed to get rid of her. They soon sent her on her way to Hollowcove Institution when some guys came and offered. They spoke to the doctors and she was off. Marked as insane and about to go to her nightmare. Literally.
Rashel looked down at her bandaged wrists. Then at the letter in front of her. She was in the mental ward of the hospital and was about to go to the one place she didn't want to go. She asked them to place her in a another home. Had pleaded and said she would be good, but it was too late. Rereading the letter she had to fight to hold back the tears. A translucent boy sat by her side ans tried to comfort her. He had a deep gash down his side and a bruised eye. Shutting him out she bit her lip.Image URL: s616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/JunoZorion/?action=view¤t=punk.jpg (Hope I can use this =D, it's almost exactly how I picture her except her eyes are a little off. Other than that it's her. I can't believe I found it!!!! lol)
Looking up as the doctor came in her face went expressionless and her gaze cold. The doctor hesitated before moving closer. He reached for one of her wrists and she pulled away, automatically fear rushed through her. It was always like this. She would say she wasn't scared but in truth: Rashel was afraid of men.
Shaking slightly she wrapped her arms around her legs and but kept her eyes on him. He muttered something, his eyes filled with sympathy and his expression saddened he walked out of the room. Swallowing hard she buried her face in her arms before quickly changing in the bathroom.
Sitting on the bed she pulled out her guitar. It was one of her few prized possesions. The first song that came to head was Tangeled Up In Me by Skye Sweetnam. Getting up she checked outside. There wasn't anybody around. She remembered from earlier the the nurse had said that everybody was using the Red Cross nowdays.
Satisfied Rashel sat back on bed. She began to play the intro. It was mostly guitar so it sounded good. Softly she began to sing. She had a great singing voice but just never noticed. In truth it sounded like a mix of Skye Sweetnam, Kelly Clarkson and Hatley Williams from the band Paramore. As she progressed in the song she got slightly louder and her voice fell into the rythem any singer would admire. As she finished she added her own special touch to the end that would have been used had it been her singing it.
She jumped when she heard clapping, looking up she saw her doctor, the social service lady and a few nurses. She didn't move and her expression went still. The attention was killing her on the spot. The social services lady came closer and winked before shooing them away. She knew she wouldn't talk so she motioned for her to follow as she grabbed her bag. Following her outside with her guitar on back she handed her her suit case and wished her luck before ushering Rashel onto the small handicap bus. Sitting in the very back she noticed two other kids. But other than that she was all alone.
Relationships:
None. She's anti social. No friends. And the Dugars only paid tuition, and were no longer her foster parents, only her source of 'donation' money for school.Other:
Rashel wants to be a writer and pianist, maybe a singer when she gets older.
