What my gift does in inflict pain. It's potency depends on my mood. But if you touch my skin, you will feel absolute pain, such pain that you might be scarred for life around me. I can even destroy things with this gift. If I concentrate hard enough, I can make inanimate objects disolve. This is incredibly exhausting, though. But unfortunately for me, my gift is stuck to my skin, and I can't make it go away either. I can only make the pain smaller. But everyone needs a little bit of pain.

Personality:

The official diagnosis is shizophrenic, but it's much worse than that. Silver's the type of person who will smile sweetly while inviting you to touch her hand (which will cause extreme pain) or look on calmly while raging in her head to destroy everything. The doctor probably should have labelled her bipolar while he was at it for good measure. Her moods change extremely quickly; one moment smiling at you, the next glaring at looking quite threateningly at you. Unstable would be a good word to describe it. But despite her promises to destroy stuff, Silver's quite naive and childlike. Very savvy when it comes to destruction, but completely innocent on stuff as to why grownups fight over politics and stuff. She sees the world simply, and has an answer to almost everything, even though they're not the best ones, usually. (ex. "Argh! How are we ever going to cure world hunger?" "Grow more food.") She's dead stubborn, but not exactly loyal. Silver backs up the people that will give her advantages over things. The one constant in her life is her big brother, with whom she shares a love-hate relationship. They protect each other and wouldn't dream of ever leaving the other, but Silver wouldn't hesitate to hurt him should the need arise. A strange child, all in all.

Appearance:

Silver is a bit on the small side, but I would advise not mentioning that to her. She's extremely sensitive about height. She has long silver hair which no one's quite whether it's died or the result of some sort of mutation. Her eyes are big and wide, which give a childlike innocent impression, but the colour is creepy. They're an ice blue, cold enough to make anyone shiver. The way she stares with them makes it look like she's staring at nothing. This isn't helped by the fact that her eyes look blind. She gets quite peeved when people offer to help her around because of that. Her face in general is somewhat elfin, with her small pointed chin and quirked thin eyebrows.
Silver's a bit of a skinny/slender figure. She tends to wear clothes that are a bit long for her, and hang off her frame, but she doesn't care. She also carries around a pair of gloves, just in case; you never know when you'll meet someone that you don't want to cause pain to, though the occasion happens rarely.

History:

Home life had been rough from the start for Silver; her parents hadn't wanted kids, but they were stuck with two of them, Silver and her older brother Link. So, for the first part of her life, Silver was mostly ignored, apart from her big brother, who looked after her.
Silver's gift developped straight away from the moment she was born. Her mother noted that she couldn't hold her without feeling a hurting sensation, but her father just said it was because she was such a pain to be around. Her gift didn't become extreme until when she was six years old, when she got angry at her mother for something. Her gift just exploded upon her, and her mother, who had been gripping Silver's wrist, collapsed. She was driven to the hospital immediately, but Silver accompanied her with the rest of the family. With her around, her mother had trouble healing, always tormented by thoughts of what that unholy little demon child had done to her. It had been a no-brained to give her and her brother to an adoption agency; Link was already demonstrating an uncanny ability as well, though less pain-causing than Silver's. So they were shipped off to foster home after foster home. Link, however, when he was old enough, set up a fake home address and pretended he was old enough to live on his own. He told Silver he'd be back for her the next week, but before that, Silver had a tempertantrum and used her gift to demolish her bed. Her foster parents were worried that they might be next, so they claimed she was insane and sent her off to Hollowcove.

RP Example:

She sat calmly in her chair, not trying to escape, but just sitting there. She was looking straight ahead, her gaze fixed on nothing as she thought deep, probably hateful thoughts. The assistant finished tying her to the chair. "Doctor, she's secure," the doctor stepped forwards, looking very professional-like. He adjusted his glasses and stared at the papers in his hand. "So you are Silver Arcadia, reported shizophrenic and bipolar?" he knew full well she was, he was just repeating this to be impressive, she knew it!
"Yes," she said blankly.
The doctor looked surprised. Silver knew that on the records, it stated that she was extremely uncooperative and had violent inclinations. Well, she was all that, but it really depended on her mood. The morning of that evaluation, she had been sitting in a cloud of angry-ness because her breakfast milk had gone bad.
"Okay," the doctor replied, making a comback. "Now, Silver, according to the records, your gift is extreme pain to all who touch your skin, and possible ability to destroy inanimate objects?"
"Well, that takes a lot of effort," she said, smiling sweetly up at the doctor, before leaning in to whisper. "My brother's coming for me, you know. I'm getting out of this place. We're leaving together. God help anyone who gets in our way," she leaned back and kept smiling.
The doctor was a bit shaken, but muttered under his breath while writing, "Extremely... disturbed...and...unstable..."
"Yes, yes I am," Silver giggled. "And it only took you this long to realize it."
