Age: 17
Gender: Female
Position: Student
Gift: Illusionism
Gift Specification:
Ainslie's gift of illusion is quite powerful, although continues to manifest itself in short and incredibly unnerving flashes in the brain of the target being. The visions she gives are macabre in nature, and she often finds herself thinking of the contents of them without realizing it. The visions can be passed through touch or thought, though touch tends to be the most feasible way of going about it. Ainslie doesn't realize her abilities, and just believes herself to be mentally ill as diagnosed. The illusionism causes her to have incredibly painful headaches throughout the days, which can be relieved depending on who she has come into physical contact with and passed a 'vision' on to recently.Awareness: Unaware
Personality:
A selective mute, Ainslie never speaks. She does listen very well, and makes friends regardless of her choice to put up a communication barrier. Despite what seems to be a friendly streak, Ainslie prefers her ability to sit alone at tables and read. She loves books of all types and reads avidly when she finds one that catches her interest. She has proven to be an eclectic reader, choosing books that are more sophisticated than the books that her peers choose. Outwardly, she seems a bit depressed and though she has many 'friends', she is often seen alone rather than with them during daylight hours. She seems to have an illogical 'fear' of the male gender, and refuses to do anything where she may have to be alone with one of them. Her contact with males is strictly done in groups where there are three females to every male present. She seems very strict about this rule, and will not join a group that has only two girls and a boy, including faculty members.Appearance:
Ainslie is of medium female build, hitting five feet, six inches when not in heels. Her hair is colored brown, and she's never participated in dying it, so it's maintained its softness over the years. It's straight, with just a little bit of curl to the ends when it gets wet.History:
Her skin is medium caucasian, with little in the area of blemishes. She has full lips and large, sleepy eyes. Her body is slim, but curvy and womanly. Her limbs are well proportioned to her body. She needs little make-up to maintain an 'attractive' facade, and many find her quite pretty.
On weekends, Ainslie chooses to wear clothing that flatters her figure while maintaining a conservative appearance. She doesn't tease her hair or put on lots of make-up. Her shoes are usually sensible hightops or old tennis shoes. Ainslie wears little jewelry, except for a silver ring on her right hand.
Anna, as her mother called her, was born to a divorced family. Her mother had re-married before giving birth to her, and Anna never met her real father. Her mother kept her fairly sheltered until her kindergarten days, when it was revealed that her father and mother had divorced because her father was in jail. She seemed to think little of it, not mentioning it after it was explained. Her step-father, Michael St. Claire, was not very discrete about the subject, however. Anna harbored an extreme distaste for the man after that point.RP Example:
During school she had many friends. Often, she would have many girls over for sleepovers and parties that were hosted by her mother. She was very popular as a child, until the city arrested Michael St. Claire for possession of child pornography sometime after her tenth birthday. Suddenly, Ainslie was seen as a stigma on the city. Her friends were told not to talk to her; instead, they began teasing her viciously, until Ainslie became so reclusive that her voice disappeared completely.
It was around this time that she began showing signs of schizophrenia. She would go into very deep times of sleep, and her night terrors would be incredibly awful for her. It reached a point where she would refuse sleep; her mother began forcing her to take sleeping medication for her 'disorder'. When it became too much for her, Ainslie was enrolled at the Hollowcove Institute.
It was revealed there that Ainslie didn't truly suffer from schizophrenia. Her mind was simply creating gruesome images that haunted her steps; they could be offset to another person through physical contact and (very rarely) intense thinking. Enrollment at the Institute proved to offer her some relief from her 'problems', though she still kept a habit of refusing sleep, afraid that the images would haunt her once again.
My head hurts, she thought, sitting in a window while gazing out over the grounds of the school. It had been six days since her splitting headaches had began; they came and went at random times of the day. Today's had started during her science class and hadn't ended yet. It hurt so much, but she couldn't bring herself to ask for something to help dull the pain.Image URL: [x][x]
The lack of communication was becoming difficult. There were so many times when she wished she could talk to someone about the thoughts that were bubbling in her head, but she wasn't sure her body would let her if she tried. The schizophrenia was becoming worse again. The images were more gruesome than ever before. She blamed her headaches on those flickering pictures that popped up in her brain. It hurts so much.
