Rashel opened the door to the library and shut it quietly behind her. It was lunch time but she was a light eater and today just wasn't hungry. She'd arrived at this dump last night and wasn't looking forward to staying without reading something. Walking down the aisle ways she was naturally quiet as she'd always had a cat- like grace. She'd also heard that if you made a single peep you'd get put in isolation, which didn't bother her even a bit, but that didn't mean she was aiming for it.
Letting out a silent breath she rounded a corner and slipped a random book off the shelf. The Tail of Desperaux. She'd read it before but then again she'd read most of the stuff in here. Rashel had always been an avid reader. Sitting down she pulled her legs up and crossed them, then sat the book on her lap, her elbows on her knees and began to read. She was short and petite for her age so it was more comfortable to sit this way. Her black and purple hair fanned out around her then as she got into it. The world around her faded into nothingness and silence. Her breathing slowed and she rested her hands under her chin.
Rashel did this often, just slipped into her own world. It was her only escape, and that's why she had been deemed insane. She talked to herself, well at least that's what other people saw. But besides that she could see the future. She was aware of it and even tried to prove it, but that's what had landed her in this crap hole. Now that she thought back she regretted it. If it had been any other thing she would have kept her mouth shut. Rashel had been weak and stupid... So stupid...

Nick blinked and found himself in the library. As soon as this fact registered in his brain, the room began to sway and he staggered into a shelf. The shelf wobbled, several books fell off, and the teenager leapt at them, but some still hit the ground loudly. He froze, listening for the approach of the librarian, or worse, one of the orderlies hired to keep the "students" in line, but none came.
Sighing with relief, he put the few books he had managed to catch back on the shelf, and picked up and replaced the ones that had fallen. Did my clothes make it with me this time? He looked down. Jeans, no shoes, no shirt, one sock. That's decent at least. He stepped out from behind the shelves, still looking out for any hostile staff.

Rashel jumped as she heard the books fall. Looking up all she saw were the bookks which were immediately swiped up. Looking behind her she noticed the librarian was actually sleeping and hadn't stirred at the sound whoever it was had gotten really lucky. Looking back to the shelf she finally saw who it was and nearly laughed out loud. The kid was tall, or at least taller than her and lanky, skinny. He had spiky brown hair and deep blue eyes. But that wasn't the funny part, what was really funny was the fact that he was dressed in nothing but a pair of jeans and a single sock. One sock! Not a pair of socks but one sock. She covered mouth to keep from laughing.
Standing she approached him, "What the hell is your issue?" she asked in a whisper smiling and glancing at the sleeping librarian again. "You just got really lucky," she added. "Oh, how did you get in here? Nobody was here a moment ago and i'm seated near the door..."
(Sorry so late, its kind of hectic over here...)

Nick nearly ducked behind the shelves again, until he realised that the person approaching him was just another student. What the hell is your issue? She seemed friendly - her words were at odds with the smile on her face. You just got really lucky. Oh, how did you get in here? Nobody was here a moment ago and I'm seated near the door...[/i] He shrugged. More luck I guess? He wasn't whispering, but he kept his voice low - he had seen her glance at the librarian. I think I just fainted or fell asleep between the shelves back there. I'm not really sure. I can't remember...
That wasn't the whole truth. The last thing he remembered was reaching for a pen sitting on the bedside table in his dorm. It felt like mere seconds ago, but it must have taken him longer to... sleep-walk, I suppose to the library. You wouldn't happen to have seen the rest of my clothes around here, would you?

Rashel frowned but didn't bother to look around. She'd weaved between all these shelves and hadn't seen him or his clothes. He was lying and he was doing very poorly at hiding it. So she let it slip. It wasn't any of her business. "Nope." she answered in a low voice that matched his. Turning she went back to her seat. They had nothing more to talk about.
Sighing she looked up to the clock. She had 20 more minutes before lunch was over. Good. she thought. She need her time to think, to relax. Sighing she resumed her previous position. Her hair falling around her, throwing her face into shadows.

Hmm. Nick looked down at his feet, and, lifting his foot that still had a sock on, pulled the sock off. At least now they matched. He turned to leave the library and stopped, seeing the librarian standing next to her desk, stretching and yawning. Damn! She woke up! I can't just walk out past her dressed like this... she'll ask questions... she'll tell the teachers... shit shit shit. He spun around and searched frantically for a hiding place. A floorboard creaked behind him and he leapt beneath a table near the reading girl, immediately realising what a stupid place it was to hide. He could hear the librarian's footsteps. If she gets close, she's going to see me.

Rashel cursed silently as the boy dove under the table as the librarian stood to do her rounds. Shifting her position so he was partially shielded she was happy she'd chosen a table in the back corner of the library. As the librarian walked by she smiled sweetly before pretending to go back to her book. The librarian smiled back before walking away. He'd gotten lucky. "All clear," she whispered low enough for only him to hear, before she moved to see him. "You're not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer are you?" She asked jokingly, something she rarely did.
